Like all these motorbikes, the new Suzuki V-Strom 250 is a mini-adventure bike that is designed to feel at home on open and city roads. Specifications
The aesthetics of the Suzuki V-Strom 250 is incredible as the mini-adventure bike borrows its handsome looks from its more powerful cousins. As a result of this, the motorbike looks like its bigger and more powerful counterparts. You get the motorbike in three colours, Pearl Nebular Black, Metallic Diamond Red, and Solid Dazzling Cool Yellow.
On the Suzuki V-Strom 250, you will find an oil damped, coil spring, telescopic suspension in the front, while the rear has oil damped, coil spring, swingarm type. Although the suspension is firm, it is also compliant.
To give the mini-adventure bike adequate stopping power, Suzuki fitted disc brakes in the front and rear. It also comes with non-adjustable ABS, adding to the stopping power of the motorbike. Heat dissipation is much better, thanks to the new and innovative design of the disc brakes. You won’t feel the ABS on the motorbike when you take it on the road.
When it comes to handling, you will find it hard to believe that a motorbike that looks big, manoeuvres like a mini-adventurer. Although the motorbike weighs 188 kg, you won’t even feel the weight when you go around corners. Suzuki has been focusing on the road capabilities of the motorbike, as it comes with 17-inch wheels. Due to the size of the wheels, the agility of the motorbike is extremely high.
You get windscreen engineered in the wind tunnel, rear carrier made of aluminium, attachments for side luggage, and 12V DC socket. You also get adventurer-like accessories such as heated grips, centre stand, tank bag, knuckle covers, top box (23-litres), decals, wheel stripes, and side cases.
Performance
On the Suzuki V-Strom 250, you get a parallel-twin, SOHC, a liquid-cooled 248cc engine which produces 25hp of power at 8,00 rpm and torque of 17.26 lb-ft at 6,500 rpm. The pick up at the lower end is good, thanks to the new cam profile which focuses on maximum acceleration. The new engine is also Euro 4 compliant, thanks to the changes made by Suzuki. You get a manual six-speed gearbox on the motorbike.
The 17.3-litre fuel tank coupled with the 88.28 mpg, allows you to take the motorbike for more than 310 miles.
Verdict
Overall, the Suzuki V-Strom 250 is a good motorbike that fits all the right mini-adventure checkboxes. Although the power of the engine is lacking, the motorbike makes up with its handling and suspension. Thanks to the incredible fuel efficiency of the motorbike, you can take it for long rides, without having to worry about running out of petrol. For a base price of £4,599.
